Lake Trasimeno

Surrounded by hills rich in olives, vineyards, and citrus, hence given the name the “green heart of Italy”.  The Lake is shallow and suitable for swimming along with numerous other sandy beaches, there is no shortage of places to take a dip.

Perugia

The capital city of Umbria, famous for its chocolate Festival held every October.  Home of the world famous “Baci” produced by Perugina.  Often called the Chocolate City it has much more to offer than just chocolate.  It’s a rather cosmopolitan hill town with historic buildings, people filled squares and scenic panoramas.  Art is found everywhere in Umbria from its National Gallery to countless other galleries where time can easily slip away from you while mesmerized by frescoes, tapestries, sculpture, and every other art form you can possibly think of.  Umbrian cuisine dates back centuries to the bounty of the land and this still holds true.  Using the finest oils from locally grown olives and the freshest of just picked citrus, these are used to enhance dishes and recipes handed down through time.

Assisi

The quaint village is a popular destination for various reasons.  First and foremost, St. Francis was born here and many make a pilgrimage here to honor the Patron Saint of Italy.  The Basilica of St. Francis holds many important works of art including frescoes attributed to Giotto.

Umbria Jazz Festival

Do you like Jazz?  Then we’re sure you’ve heard of the Umbria Jazz Festival.  Started in 1973, it’s become an important Jazz event throughout the world.  The best musical artists of our time converge here every year in July.  Imagine seeing and hearing Sonny Rollins, Herbie Hancock, Alicia Keys, or your personal favorite under the Italian sky with thousands of other like-minded Jazz aficionados.
